Automation & Integration
Stop doing what software should be doing for you.
Eliminate manual, repetitive work and connect disconnected tools with clean, end-to-end workflows — built on n8n, open and yours.
Sentry's Automation and Integration service connects your systems and removes the manual work between them — handoffs, data entry, routing and reconciliation — built on n8n, which is open source and stays yours.
What Automation & Integration delivers
Eliminate manual work
No more swivel-chair tasks or re-keying. Repetitive work runs itself, 24/7, without error.
One connected stack
Every system talks to every other. Data flows automatically — no silos, one source of truth. Payment gateways included: Stripe, PayPal and Worldpay wired into the site, the CRM and the ledger.
Scale without headcount
When volume doubles, workload doesn't. The engine absorbs growth instead of adding cost.
Representative stack
KPIs we move — measured, owned, reported
Every KPI is tied to a named owner and a target agreed up front — so this service is accountable to outcomes, not activity, for every stakeholder who consumes the value.
Capability Maturity — we walk you up the five levels
Operated at Level 5 · Optimising — self-improving, measured and owned. We track this rank and raise it over time. See the five levels →
Why this matters
Functional value, value-stream value — and why it can't be ignored.
Connects your tools and automates the manual work between them — handoffs, data entry, routing and reconciliation — end to end.
The connective tissue of the value stream: it removes the delay, error and rework at every handoff, so work flows through the business without a person carrying it between systems.
Manual handoffs are a tax on every transaction — slow, error-prone and impossible to scale. Disconnected systems quietly cap growth: more volume just means more people, more mistakes and more cost.
One data layer · measured & owned
Every service creates data — captured, measured, owned.
Automation & Integration doesn’t just run — it generates signal. We land that data in one warehouse and turn it into live KPIs tied to a named owner, so performance is attributable and acted on, never trapped inside a single tool.
Data warehouse
KPIs, dashboards & apps
Platform-agnostic — we connect what you already use and add a warehouse only where it earns its place.
How we select technology
We choose technology last — for the outcomes it has to earn.
Never tech for its own sake. A tool joins the stack only where it measurably protects value, cuts cost or unlocks speed — fit to a designed system, owned where it counts, and measurable from day one. How we select technology →
Speed
Modern, edge-served stacks are sub-second. Slow surfaces cost conversion and SEO every single day.
Cost
Cut licence, hosting and per-task SaaS fees — pay for capability, not lock-in or idle enterprise tiers.
Security
Flat, edge architecture with almost nothing left to attack — fewer moving parts, smaller surface.
Ownership & no lock-in
Composable and self-hosted where it counts — you own the system, not rent someone else’s.
Measurability
Clean data and KPIs baked in — you cannot improve, automate or apply AI to what you cannot measure.
Fit to process
The right tool for a designed system — selected against process readiness, so it amplifies, not adds friction.
How we deliver · DMAIC
Every Automation & Integration engagement runs on DMAIC.
Define the goal and its value, measure the baseline, analyse the real constraint, improve with a proven build, then control the gains — so results are predictable, repeatable and defensible, not down to luck.
Agree the goal, value, budget & timescale up front.
Baseline the KPIs above — current state, not guesswork.
Diagnose the real constraint and the solution needed.
Build the chosen solution; prove the uplift.
Lock in the gains; monitor and sustain them.
FAQ
Common questions
Why does Sentry build on n8n rather than Zapier or Make?
Because n8n is open and self-hostable, so the automation you pay to build remains yours rather than rented. Per-task platforms bill you more as you succeed: the busier the workflow, the larger the invoice. Self-hosted n8n breaks that link between volume and cost.
What kind of work can actually be automated?
The work that moves information between systems: handoffs, re-keying, routing, reconciliation and the swivel-chair tasks people do because two tools do not talk. If a person is acting as an integration between two screens, that is the candidate. Payment gateway integration is the same problem with money attached. Connecting Stripe, PayPal, Worldpay or your own acquirer to a website or an application is rarely just the checkout: it is the refund, the failed payment, the subscription renewal and the reconciliation back into your finance system. We build those paths so that one payment updates every record it should, once.
Where does AI fit into automation?
Where it earns its place, and not before. Deterministic rules are cheaper, faster and more predictable than a model for anything with a fixed answer. AI is added where judgement is genuinely required — classifying, extracting, summarising — rather than applied everywhere because it is available.
What happens when our volume doubles?
The workload should not. That is the test of whether the automation was built properly: disconnected systems cap growth because more volume means more people, more mistakes and more cost, whereas a connected stack absorbs the increase. Scaling without adding headcount is the outcome being bought.
Do we own the automations you build?
Yes. Built on n8n, open and yours — the workflows, the logic and the integrations. That matters most on the day you decide to bring the work in-house or move it elsewhere: there is nothing proprietary holding your operations hostage.
What does automation and integration cost?
Sentry's managed services start at £3,000 per month, scoped to the work and including selected tool costs. Because self-hosted n8n removes per-task fees, the run cost of the automation itself typically falls as volume grows rather than rising with it.
